That was definitely one thing going on in my mind, haha.
The training kicks in, they do what they have to do. Play the song!!! This is an all time great video.
Thanks to them, this remains to this day the only fight song I can recognize. I can't remember my high school or college fight songs at all (the fact that we stunk in most sports might have something to do with that), but the other week at my parents' place I heard this from the other room and knew immediately my Dad was watching a replay of an Auburn game on the TV.
Always on point. Game day wouldn't be the same without them. War Eagle!!

This is an example of military style, teamwork discipline. Every fiber wanted to yell and celebrate but... they played their instrument . Awesome!

This video is so utterly fantastic there are no words. For those kids to have the discipline to stay focused and play in the midst of that emotion and chaos is incredible. They are providing the soundtrack to one of the greatest moments in sports history.

Look at the Saxophone player on centre-left at around 0:22 , he's the only one jumping around and suddenly, in a split second, shifts into his music stance. It almost looks like a cartoon!

HOW IN THE WORLD did the BAND play anything at all after witnessing that return missed kick???
Looking at it, they barely did. It took some of those flutes and piccolos a few seconds of screaming to realize that they were supposed to be playing. Even then, I saw a few take some scream breaks. If that were me, there is no way I would be playing. I'd be up there screaming and jumping around with the director.

this video was amazing for so many reasons.. first.. who would have thought to video the band at this moment.. and the reaction to the play with the great historic radio call made it a video I actually cried with joy watching.. amazing video .. could be as one of the comments below the best sports video of all time... so lucky to have watched it... the joy that comes through as the band starts to play their signature theme was super!
I wish my high school marching band was like this: enthusiastic, attentive to the game, unison in movement while playing. That's a great band.

You've won two nat'l championships in a row and haven't lost a game in two years and pretty much set yourself as a dominant program who could beat anybody in any place and you lose in the worst way possible to your biggest instate rival in their house in the most important regular season game of the year for them and your dream for a 3rd straight title ends just like that. If I was a Bama fan, I probably would never get over something like this.
This is why I love our band as much as our football team! They are amazing and truly make the gameday experience so electric and fun. War Eagle!
